One of the three finalists on the reality TV show, Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Malik beat off competition from 16,755 applicants and 16 contestants in order to win Mahajan’s heart. But now she says “he’s put me off”.
“I am not too keen on marrying him anymore. But we did sign a bond before the show and if he chooses me, I will definitely not walk out. But he will have to quit smoking and flirting with other women. These are the two things I will never allow,” she says.
Curiously enough it’s not Mahajan’s past that bothers Malik. Though he was involved in a cocaine scandal and accused of being a wife beater, Malik, a graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi, says, “Everyone deserves a second chance. It was his closeness to other girls, especially Dimpy Ganguly, that put me off.”
Malik reveals that she entered the contest on her mother’s insistence. “She really liked Rahul and wanted me to get married to him. But I really don’t understand why the other two girls want to get married at the young age of 20,” she says, referring to the other two finalists, Dimpy Ganguly (21) and Harpreet Chabra (20).
Playing the coy Indian bride on television has not broken Malik’s resolve to remain independent after marriage. She affirms, “I am planning to launch my fashion label soon, with or without Rahul. Marriage will not stop me from working as I have spent 25 years of my life working towards this.”

Finally its going to be 'All is well' for Rahul Mahajan as he has chosen his life partner in the televised swayamvar show 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega', and its seems that Nikunj Malik would rule the heart of Mahajan Jr., who is a designer from Faridabad.

The top three finalists are Nikunj Malik, Dimpy Ganguly and Harpreet Chabra and with the highest probability, Nikunj shares her emotions with Rahul and looking to tie knot with him on March 5.

According to a source which informed the tellychakkar, "The show has got its three finalists who will lock horns in the finale to go on to marry Rahul on 5 March. The three girls are Nikunj, Dimpy and Harpreet. In all probability, Nikunj will walk away home as the winner as Rahul has developed a liking for her. Apparently, Rahul is already dating her and is completely bowled over by her intelligence and beauty."

25-year-old Malik is an accessory designer from Faridabad. She apparently likes to read and write poetry. She wants to marry Rahul because she finds him to be courageous. Delhi girl, Harpreet Chabra, who is 21 is a model and an anchor by profession and is quite mature for her age. Dimpy too is 21 and is from Kolkata and is a model and actress. She gave up a lead role with a leading Bengali filmmaker to come on RDLJ.

To make one of the biggest decisions of his life, Rahul Mahajan invites Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar to Fateh Garh Palace to advise him on this important step on 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega'!

Married for 25 years and still very much in love with each other, Sachin and Supriya are today regarded as one of the evergreen couples in the entertainment industry.


The couple made Rahul and his prospective brides to play a few fun games... romance was the key to each game and Rahul and the brides to be engage in games like 'holding the ball and walking', 'stitching button on to a shirt', 'looking into each other's eyes without blinking' and 'dancing with a balloon in between'. At the end of this session, the girls get together and decide to serenade our Dulhe Raja with their favorite love songs."

Sachin and Supriya also emphasized that marriage is not all fun and games.



With that in mind Sachin takes Rahul aside to share his thoughts on how to keep his future wife happy and to make her feel loved. Supriya also shares some of her secrets with the potential Dulhans on what husbands are really like and how one should deal with them.

In a specially organized "Bollywood Night", the prospective brides undergo a transformation into beautiful Bollywood belles, with special performances to the songs of these popular actresses.  In appreciation of the hard work, the young brides-to-be put into making this a fun evening, the Dulha and host Ram  Kapoor join in the party dressed as none other than Amitabh Bachchan of Yaarana (Rahul) and Gabbar from Sholay (Ram).

To add to the excitement, Rahul who is an ardent fan of Big B, kick started the bollywood night dancing to the tunes of  Big B's famous song... 'Saara Zamana Haseeno Ka Deewana'! Continuing the momentum, the brides-to-be too joined in.

Mani Thakur dressed as Deepika Padukone, performed on Dhoom ta na. Mani Thakur and Shannti Dinnoo in a Kareena Kapoor like avatar performed on chhalia chhalia. Zeenat Aman's famous number Aap Jaisa Koi by Devinder Sidhu  and Charmy's Hema Malini act set the stage ablaze.

The list does not end here! Dressed to resemble their favourite bollywood actresses, the brides-to be created magic with their scintillating performances on various old and new bollywood gaanas. Maharashtrian Mulgi  Mrinmai Kolwalkar grooved to Desi Girl,  while with her ultimate dance moves Nikunj Malik captured the beauty of Rekha on her evergreen song Salaam-e-ishq.

The episode started with the date of Rahul Mahajan & Dimpy Ganguly on a hot air balloon, which was very romantic. Dimpy was able to create a spark between them. The closeness made Nikunj very jealous.

Further when Rahul was having date with one of the other girls, Ashutosh & Zulfi Syed, came to meet their old friend from Big Boss. They helped out Rahul in scrutinising the girls. The visit brought a lot of hot revealations from the past of the girls. The most spicy one was of Dimpy Ganguly about her exboyfriend Neel Shah as per her claim. But lot more to come. Rahul left no stone unturned to know the complete truth right from calling up the person to questioning Dimpy and gave her a big shock.

Rahul Mahajan has to select his future wife and thus has one big question that needs to be resolved... the big question- does the bride-to-be loves kids as much as he does? Now to find the answer, Rahul enlists the help of his three young friend, comedian Saloni, Abhishek and little host Dhairya. True to his flamboyant style, Rahul brings his friends to Fatehgarh palace in Udaipur and has a surprise in store for them! The beautiful palace is decorated with balloons and is filled with toys!

According to our source, “Rahul believes that ‘bacche sambhalna bachchon ka khel nahi hai’ and hence arranges for the prospective dulhans (brides) to spend time with kids and interact with them. Little Saloni sends a clear message to the prospective brides, ‘Agar Rahul bhaiya ko khush karna hai toh pehle humein khush karna hoga!’ These mischievous kids also decide to give each of the girls a special name like, Meethi Chhuri, Nakchadee, Rondu amongst others.”

“This fun-filled episode features a series of games like ‘musical chairs’ and ‘ghoda hai chamat khayee, peeche deeke mar khayee’ between the kids and the brides-to-be. What’s more, the kids also put on a special stand-up comedy act for everyone,” signs off the source.

From the first day Nikunj Malik from Faridabad is the lucky one in getting all the right favors from Rahul Mahajan. Be it the diary writing task, cooking or even the hard ones of testing the trust. From all the perspectives she is the strongest contender to win the show and become the bride of Rahul Mahajan.

In the 8th episode C.E.O. of Priya Kumar Training Systems, Priya Kumar came to test the trust that the brides have on Rahul Mahajan. Girls had to perform a task based on trust by moving blind-folded on a plank over a swimming pool guided by Rahul. Mostly completed in half minute, Dimpy Ganguly and Mrinmai Kolwalker did it in 11 seconds but the winner Tannu Bhatia out perofrmed all by completing it in 10 seconds. Nikunj Malik was again given preference over others when Rahul involved himself with her in the task. Later on Priya Kumar asked Rahul to perform the task guided by the winner Tannu Bhatia. It took him 45 seconds to perform the task.



In another task, girls had to break the karate board to show how they fight back. Only Charmy Chauhan and Nikunj Malik were able to break the board showing their physical and mental strength. When it came to Nikunj, Rahul again involved himself in the task by holding the board and encouraged her a lot.

Sonia Kour, the youngest bride became the fourth eliminated bride from the show. Rahul thinks that at the age of 19, she isn't ready for marriage. She has a whole life infront of her and wishes that she will get a better prince some-day. This was to happen being Rahul of 35 and Sonia at just 19.

With the tune of ‘Lo Chali Main Apne Devar Ki Baraat Le Kar’ playing in her head, TV Superstar Gautami Kapoor made her way to the majestic Fatehgarh Palace on Swayamvar ready to meet the prospective brides of her ‘devar’ (Brother-In-law) Rahul Mahajan.

Taking her role very seriously, Gautami decided to put the prospective brides' knowledge to the test by playing some ‘masaledaar’ games. Gautami enlists the help of Ram for a series of ‘gharelu’ tests that she has specially created. The two teams were created , one headed by Gautami and the other headed by Ram Kapoor engaged in fun and exciting tasks such as ‘Bhuj tera naam re’, ‘kaun si hoon main daal re?’, ‘Aazmale aazmale kaun se hai ye masale?’, and ‘Spin the Belan’.”

“Gautami even tested the would-be-bride’s ‘Ghar Ke Nuske’ and was quite impressed and happy with their knowledge! After spending time with all of them, Gautami reveals her choice of who she believes will be the perfect match for Rahul  who is none other than the sweet & charming Swati Augustin and presents the lucky young lady with a beautiful red saree and ‘Chaabion Ka Guchha’,”

Rahul Mahajan will be more than happy as 2 of his favorite participants will be introduced in the show this week. Already Rahul is taking his new role as a soon-to-be bridegroom quite seriously. So, why else would he insist on getting two NRI girls, who he instantly took a fancy to, to participate in his swayamvar, Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega? His wish took a little time to be fulfilled as both the girls were not getting work permits.

Shailaja Kejriwala, Executive Vice President for content of the channel, said, “Yes, we initially did not get the work permit as they were foreign nationals. However, when we managed to get their permits we thought of giving a surprise to Rahul.” 

 Rahul’s prospective brides-to-be get the taste of being a celebrity wife. They have the entire nation watching their every move as they begin their quest to become Mrs. Rahul Mahajan and these young ladies in waiting can use all the help they can get!

In order to give every girl an equal opportunity in this eventful journey, Imagine enlisted the assistance of two of Rahul’s closest friends… ace designer Vikram Phadnis and the very stunning Neha Dhupia. Understanding the need for the girls to get some professional styling and grooming tips, Vikram traveled all the way to Udaipur to give the girls a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ training session to help them prepare for D-Day. Neha on the other hand chose to spend time with Rahul, giving him a few ‘home truths’ on understanding and interacting with these young women!

Vikram took his role very seriously and spent time with all the girls giving them so very valuable fashion and grooming advice which ranged from keeping track of the fashion trends to the importance of personal hygiene!
Neha and Rahul spent time catching up and discussing his frame of mind at current stage of this very important journey. Apart from giving him some practical advice, Neha also shared some girlie secrets, going to the extent to ask him to delete the contact details of the other 15 girls once he had chosen his bride!
Before leaving Vikram and Neha got together with the contestants to give Rahul a big surprise, a special fashion show with all the girls dressed in outfits from Vikram’s latest bridal collection and set against the magnificent and romantic Fateh Garh Palace!
